How to go from black to brown hair w/out bleach

Hello my lovely angels! I'm so excited for this post it's a bit random but I hope it will be useful to someone else. Today I dye my hair, I now have reddish-brown hair and previously my hair was black and I didn't even need bleach! I know it seems impossible, believe me I tried so many times so when I wanted a light hair color I bleached it. There are two different non-bleaching methods you can use and the one I'm going to discuss in this post is using blonde hair dye.

I used Revlon Color Silk in 03 Ultra Light Sun Blonde. Basically your just going to dye your hair like normal and if your hair isn't as dark I would suggest going with a blonde shade a bit darker than this one. I waited 30 minutes and I love the results! I am no longer rocking black hair but reddish-brown hair and I love it!
Sorry if this isn't super in-depth but it's straight to the point and very easy to follow.
If you would like to know about another way to achieving lighter hair just let me know in the comments below.

  1. the reddish brown looks lovely :) Although box dyes like that do have bleach in them (check the back it will say it has hydrogen peroxide in) they're just not as damaging as actual bleach packs. I have bleach blonde hair but use boxed blonde dyes to do my roots as theyre less damaging and my natural hair doesn't need lifting quite as much x

  2. Wow that really works and I can see the brown as well. Normally, I won't go for blonde because I'm worried it will go blonde but this is very brave to give it a try. x
